Agency systems & workflow strategy
Assess how the agency management system (AMS), CRM, documents, communications, and automation fit together. Identify duplicate work, unclear handoffs, and priorities for improving the operating model.
Insurtech & insurance transformation
Helping insurance and technology leaders connect product decisions, AI adoption, and market strategy to the realities of the insurance business.
An operator’s perspective
My perspective on insurtech began with the problems I encountered inside our own business.
Josh and I co-founded Providence Insurance about a decade ago. My background in business banking led me into commercial insurance, with a focus on historic properties and technology businesses. As we acquired agencies, I continued building platforms and workflows around the needs of our operations.
I went on to build We Build Staxx, an automation and technology business serving insurance, and exited in 2025. That combination of agency ownership, acquisition experience, and technology entrepreneurship informs the work I do today.
Where we can work together
Assess how the agency management system (AMS), CRM, documents, communications, and automation fit together. Identify duplicate work, unclear handoffs, and priorities for improving the operating model.
Explore AI-assisted intake, document organization, internal knowledge access, service correspondence, and renewal preparation. Shape pilots around actual team tasks, with appropriate handling of client information and human review.
Map the work from gathering business information and preparing submissions to servicing accounts and planning renewals. Identify where better information flow can support producers, account teams, and the client experience.
Bring an acquisition-informed perspective to systems consolidation, workflow consistency, team onboarding, and change management. Build a roadmap that accounts for the people who will use the new processes.
Help founders and technology teams examine the agency problem, buyer needs, workflow fit, and adoption barriers. Translate insurance operating context into product priorities, positioning, and a practical pilot plan.
Identify alignment between insurance businesses, technology providers, and complementary brands. Develop a shared value proposition, partnership priorities, and a plan for bringing an offering to the right audience.
A focused engagement
For an agency leader, the starting point might be an operating challenge. For an insurtech or SaaS leadership team, it might be an insurance market opportunity, product direction, adoption, or a strategic partnership.
An engagement can produce a current-state assessment, a prioritized roadmap, pilot criteria, and clear responsibilities for implementation. Scope is shaped around your business and the decision in front of you.
